A ‘k-cup’ is a premeasured cup of coffee grounds for a particular brand of coffee maker that makes the coffee one cup at a time. I live in Seattle, and we use ‘beans’ that we grind and measure ourselves (we use a French Press) … and I don’t know if ‘Green Mountain’ is a ‘brand name’ or the name of a ‘type or style’ of coffee that could be available under any ‘brand name.’ Sorry. If you have the ‘maker’ that uses a ‘k-cup’ you can get an ‘insert’ that you can use with your own coffee instead of buying the more expensive ‘pre-made’ cups.

I used to drink it in Northeast Pennsylvania – decent coffee for the states. A number of gas stations used to have it. It kept me from making a big splat on I-81 at 1 in the morning on my drives back and forth to college.

Green Mountain Coffee is from Vermont. You can find it in most stores in the North East and McDonald’s has switched to serving Green Mountain Coffee. You can also order it online at http://www.greenmountaincoffee.com

As the others have already said, the k-cup is just a premeasured amount of coffee that is sealed in a cup. I have a single-cup coffee maker and I LOVE Green mountain coffee. I’m not sure if anyone else makes the k-cups, but I’ve always loved the blends from Green Mountain.

    Personal favorites:
    French Vanilla
    Breakfast Blend
    Hazelnut

They also have hot cocoa that is pretty good.

As a side note, I usually like a nice big cup of coffee… and when I hit the brew button, I get a cup… but not really a full cup. I’ve found that you can actually open the lid and close it, hit brew again, and get another 1/2 serving out of each k-cup before it gets too weak.

LOL at jester4kicks. I do that exact same thing sometimes, and like you, I LOVE my k-cup brewer and the different flavored coffees Green Mountain has. I definitely prefer a lighter roast, Breakfast Blend and Our Blend are two of my favorites, as far as darker roast, the Dark Magic K-Cup has a really big kick and nice aroma.

If you haven’t tried the Caramel Vanilla Cream K-Cup, I would say try it as soon as you can! It is delicious. I have never ordered from GreenMountain.com myself. I get my k-cups from MyCupCoffee.com because of the coupons they have running every month, but I’m not sure what the difference is between the two. I don’t know if they are the same company or just carry the same products. I just have found one to be cheaper than the other.
